Gary B. Traystman focuses exclusively on family law and divorce matters and has focused on divorce and its economic components, custody, and visitation since 1985. He has handled thousands of divorces and related matters, represented high-profile and celebrity clients, and appeared in local and national media to discuss family law issues, while developing a reputation as a talented and experienced family court practitioner. He has served as a special master in New London County and the Middletown Family Court for over 30 years, and the Regional Family Trial Docket (a specialized custody docket) in Middletown for over 20 years.

Since joining Traystman & Coric, LLC in 2013, Attorney Layton has practiced in the areas of civil litigation and criminal defense. Attorney Layton’s civil litigation practice focuses primarily on personal injury matters involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, uninsured and underinsured motorist claims, medical and dental malpractice, dog bites and products liability. Attorney Layton’s criminal practice includes representing individuals charged with a variety of offenses including operating under the influence, reckless driving, operating under suspension, assault, harassment, larceny and illegal possession of a controlled substance. Attorney Layton is licensed to practice in both the State of Connecticut and in Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Court. Attorney Layton resides in Deep River, Connecticut with his wife Sarah and their two sons, Louis and Archie.
